About Vijaya 
Vijaya Iyer received her PhD in Microbiology from Kansas State University. Her research focused on molecular biology, bacterial interactions, metabolism and animal models to study bacterial infections. Following her PhD, Dr. Iyer went on to successfully complete three postdoctoral fellowships at Kansas State University, University of Miami and Temple University.
Over the past decade, Dr. Iyer has written & edited several manuscripts, conference abstracts, slide decks, course content, blog, and posters. She also successfully completed the 'Writing in the Sciences' course offered by Stanford Online.
With her scientific background and the zeal to simplify scientific information, she started Iyer's Writings to help academic and industry professionals meet their scientific communication needs.
